THE PLANK WORLD RECORD CHALLENGE
From twelve minutes
toward the impossible.
In April 2026, my first straight-arm plank lasted twelve minutes. The aim is a plank world record—built through honest sessions, recovery and one more minute at a time.

September test target
In 2025 I trained the forearm plank and reached twenty-seven minutes. A conversation with world-record holder Josef Šálek made the scale of record preparation feel real. Then my Hungarian friend Zsolt introduced me to the straight arm plank, and a first twelve-minute attempt became a new direction.
The current male Guinness World Records benchmark is 50:04.58, achieved by Kenneth Travis in Longview, Texas, USA, on June 8, 2026. That update changed the scale of the challenge and forced a reassessment of the project.
The target demands more than strong shoulders and a rigid core. It demands patience, self-observation and the humility to stop when recovery matters more than pride. This project records the structured sessions, the physical signals, the difficult decisions and the lessons that survive after the timer stops.
The result is a public plank training log: straight-arm plank sessions, recovery days, tests, articles and the small decisions required to build endurance without losing intelligence—even when the official target suddenly moves much farther away.
