This was another deliberate unloading session: gentle mobility for the shoulders, glutes, spine and hips, followed by three three-minute straight-arm planks with ninety seconds of recovery.
The first two sets
The opening hold felt very calm, with exclusively nasal breathing and good overall looseness. The second remained stable and brought no meaningful fatigue.
The position felt more fluid than it had during the accumulated-load phase earlier in the month.
Only a distant signal
Very slight shaking appeared near the end of the third set. It remained distant, non-invasive and fully controlled.
Mental and respiratory organisation never changed. The body no longer carried the residual soreness that had been evident after the mountain work.
The mind lags behind the body
Despite the improved mechanics and recovery, a doubt remained: how could these controlled blocks become a much longer continuous hold?
That question did not invalidate the session. It showed that tapering must restore psychological confidence as well as physical freshness.
THE TAKEAWAYRecovery can become visible in the body before it becomes believable in the mind. Both adaptations need time.
